The House of Alexandros Papadiamantis in Skiathos 2019

Slighty disturbed that I’ve spent my pool and beach time this holiday lying on a One Direction towel.

England dispatch New Zealand to seal Cricket World Cup semi-final spot - England 305-8, New Zealand 186. Now I can relax about cricket until next week. Would love to see an England v India World Cup Final but have a feeling it won’t work out that way. 🏏 theguardian.com/sport/2019/jul

Interesting 🏏 stats:

Most wickets by an England bowler at a World Cup

JC Archer - 17 (2019)
IT Botham - 16 (1992)
A Flintoff - 14 (2007)

Finished reading Circe by Madeline Miller. Very readable and lively recounting of the Greek Odyssey tales (and more) from the unique perspective of goddess/witch Circe. I’ll be looking out for a copy of Miller’s first novel The Song of Achilles now. 📚

England v India: Jonny Bairstow & Liam Plunkett star in hosts’ Cricket World Cup win. Exciting match to listen to on TMS - now England just need to maintain that level of performance. Perhaps the return of Jason Roy is the talisman the team needs 🏏 bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/488195

Increasing my limited space holiday cooking repertoire - ‘pizza’ made in a frying pan using pitas, fresh tomatoes, cheese, olive oil and oregano 🍕

Very pleased to get BBC Test Match Special streaming in Greece 🇬🇷 to listen to England v India Cricket World Cup game 🏏
