Me: "I have literally never heard that supposedly popular urban myth"

According to the US Census, between 1985 and 1999 the average home size went from 1,800-plus square feet to nearly 2,300 square feet. By 2017, the average new home size was over 2,400 square feet and was likely to include four plus bedrooms."

@bstacey One must always bear in mind that when Forbes and such talk about generational sociology, they are bracketing this in haute bourgeoisie terms.

If they wanted to talk about the rest of us, they’d invoke “the poor” or whatever in disgusted tones.
