@Radgryd Take no chances at this point, especially when the IA is in much legal trouble as it is.

With them losing the book publishers case and another lawsuit filed by the record labels over the Great 78 Project, there's going to be even more lawsuits coming their way across various industries.

My previous thoughts are here which doesn't bode well for their future as a organization sad to say. :(

Mastodon @ SDFJoe Ortiz (@joeo10@mastodon.sdf.org)As I and many others widely expected, the @internetarchive@mastodon.archive.org has formally decided not to take the book publishing lawsuit to the SCOTUS, thus giving #libraries a massive blow as I mentioned already. https://blog.archive.org/2024/12/04/end-of-hachette-v-internet-archive/ Plus, this officially starts the clock to the #InternetArchive's inevitable demise as more lawsuits are coming their way and what a sad day that will be when I read their shutdown post down the road.
