USPol Nazism dark musings

If Gandi was right, then the following stages are true across the political spectrum:

First they ignore you.
Then they laugh at you.
Then they fight you.
Then you win.

Now, replace "you" by "Trump". Or by "Fascism"... Instead of the Indian people that Gandi had in mind.

Remember that a certain German politician went through these stages starting around 1920 (ignored, ridiculed, fought, etc).

@ParadeGrotesque "This week, Amanda Chase, a state senator in Virginia and self-described 鈥淭rump in heels鈥, announced a bid for Congress against the Democrat Abigail Spanberger. Chase gave a speech in Washington on 6 January, hours before the insurrection, and was censured by her state senate for praising the rioters as 鈥減atriots鈥."

Why do I have to share a state with this fuckwit? She stays in power by fearmongering over Facebook for the sections of Chesterfield County her district covers. She doesn't even need to do that for Amelia County and Colonial Heights because they're safe. She's actually too right wing for even the state Republican Party so she's thrown a fit and become an independent a number of times. The Republican Party had a caucus to choose their gubernatorial candidate instead of a primary this year to try to lock her out. You think Glenn Youngkin (who won) is bad? She'd be worse!

@ParadeGrotesque Don't worry, Gandhi was not right.

First they ignore you.
Then they laugh at you.
Then they fight you.
Then nobody makes a quote about you because you're not around anymore.

@ParadeGrotesque 1. didn't gandhi have the british colonialists in mind?
2. didn't gandhi have kind words for hitler?

imho it's neither specific symptoms of fascism (e.g. trumpism). it's more about the deep split thorugh all of society which makes us believe the "us vs them" theme actually works.

truth be told you are so much closer to any trumpist (as ugly as that sounds) than to the ruling class. your words do differ but you're driven by the same economic forces

@ruffni

Your trollish argument makes no sense at all.

Yes, Gandi had the UK in mind when using "they".

Yes, Gandi had kind words for Hitler, because he wanted the Fuhrer NOT to start WWII. He was duly ignored.

See: indiatoday.in/news-analysis/st

"Us vs Them" works because it has been bankrolled for decades now by the wealthiest.

Whether this project succeeds in the US as it did in Germany remains to be seen.

First they ignore you.
Then they laugh at you.
Then they fight you.
Then they won and pretended to be victims.
